Zudena 100 mg is a medicine commonly marketed as containing udenafil, which is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It helps increase blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation. However, combining Zudena with nitrate medicines can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.

1. How Does the Interaction Occur?
Udenafil belongs to a group of medicines called PDE5 inhibitors. It relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow to the penis. Nitrates, such as nitroglycerin and isosorbide dinitrate, also widen blood vessels and lower blood pressure.

When these medicines are combined, their effects can be amplified, potentially causing severe hypotension, dizziness, fainting, reduced blood flow to vital organs, or even a life-threatening medical emergency.

2. Which Medicines Should Be Avoided?
Examples of nitrate medicines include:

Nitroglycerin, used for angina or chest pain.
Isosorbide mononitrate.
Isosorbide dinitrate.
Recreational nitrites, sometimes called “poppers.”
Do not combine these substances with Zudena.

3. What Should You Do If Chest Pain Occurs?
If you develop chest pain after taking ZUDENA 100 MG, seek emergency medical care. Tell medical staff that you have taken udenafil and when you took it. Do not take nitroglycerin yourself unless emergency clinicians determine that it is safe.

Zudena 100 mg should not be combined with nitrates because the interaction can cause a dangerous, potentially life-threatening drop in blood pressure. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before using Zudena, particularly if you have heart disease or take medicines for chest pain or blood pressure.
