The Google Book Laptop is the most interesting thing Google has done with a laptop in years and also the hardest to recommend on day one. It starts at $899 for the Acer model and climbs to $1,299, it runs an Android-based OS instead of ChromeOS, and its whole pitch rests on Gemini being useful enough to make you rebuy a machine you already own.
