However, many privacy companies deliberately offer their full-featured software packages as direct DMG or PKG downloads on their own websites, because the official Mac App Store imposes strict sandboxing restrictions that can prevent network utilities from managing kernel-level routing and advanced kill switch controls. If you downloaded the file from an authentic developer portal, bypassing the Gatekeeper prompt is completely standard and safe. You can find legitimate, digitally signed installers directly at https://toggle.org/download-macos-vpn for your Mac. Instead of double-clicking the file directly, right-click (or Control-click) on the installer package in your Downloads folder and choose Open from the contextual menu. This triggers a modified prompt that includes an explicit Open button, allowing you to bypass Gatekeeper with administrative authorization.
