Crypto exchanges have been divided into CEXs and DEXs for so long that I'm curious whether hybrid exchanges could become the next major model. Is combining the two approaches actually practical in the long run?

I think the idea is worth watching because it tries to address some very different problems at the same time. Faster execution, liquidity and familiar trading tools are useful, while self-custody and on-chain verification address some of the concerns people have with traditional exchanges. The difficult part is building all of those components securely and keeping the infrastructure manageable across different chains and jurisdictions. This article has a pretty thorough breakdown of how hybrid exchanges are approaching those issues: https://nftcalendar.io/blog/how-hybrid-exchanges-are-reshaping-crypto-trading/. It helped me understand why this model is getting more attention.
