Avana 100 mg (avanafil) should NOT be taken with nitrates. The combination is contraindicated because avanafil can greatly amplify the blood-pressure-lowering effect of nitrates, potentially causing severe hypotension, fainting, heart attack, or stroke. D DailyMed +1 Nitrates include: Nitroglycerin / GTN Isosorbide mononitrate Isosorbide dinitrate Nitrate-containing sprays, patches, tablets, or ointments Recreational “poppers” containing nitrates M MedlinePlus If you've Avana 100 mg taken Avana 100 mg and then develop chest pain, do not take nitroglycerin yourself. Seek emergency medical care and tell them when you took avanafil. The prescribing information says that if a nitrate is absolutely necessary in a life-threatening situation, at least 12 hours should elapse after avanafil, and it should only be given under close medical supervision. D DailyMed If you tell me which nitrate medicine you take and its dose, I can check the specific interaction.
