What can we do to make Los Angeles roads safer?

Traffic safety in Los Angeles is something I think deserves more attention. When people search for fatal car crashes in the last 24 hours Los Angeles, it can be a reminder of how quickly a normal trip can turn into a tragedy for a family.
I’m also curious about what people should do after a serious collision, especially when there are injuries, insurance disputes, or questions about who was responsible. Would speaking with a LA car accident attorney be one of the first steps you would consider, or would you focus on dealing with medical treatment and insurance first?
What changes do you think would make the biggest difference on LA roads: better intersection design, lower speeds, improved enforcement, safer pedestrian areas, or something else?
