Hi everyone,

I’ve been analyzing retail layouts for delicate product stores (like scented rocks, candles, and fragile home decor). One major challenge during the holiday rush is keeping customers from bumping into displays while waiting in line to check out.

Has anyone here experimented with modifying their store's queue layout? Instead of just letting lines form naturally, using physical crowd control barriers like a velvet rope post or a classic retractable belt stanchion can actually guide foot traffic safely away from fragile glass displays.

My company manufactures these at Queue Manager, and we are trying to understand how boutique and hobby store owners handle their peak season rush. Do you rely on floor markers, or do you use physical stanchions to manage the crowd?

Would love to hear your store management tips!
