Has anyone traveled through the Charlotte airport recently? I am curious about what the terminal experience is like, especially for someone visiting for the first time.
From what I understand, the Charlotte Douglas International Airport Terminal has a central terminal with several concourses, so passengers can usually move around the airport without having to deal with completely separate terminal buildings. Still, I imagine it can feel a little confusing if you are unfamiliar with the layout.
I would especially like to know how easy it is to find the right gate after security. Is the signage clear, and how much walking should travelers expect? I am also interested in the best options for grabbing food or finding a comfortable place to sit during a longer wait.
For anyone with a connecting flight, how much time would you recommend allowing between flights? I would rather have some extra time than end up rushing through a busy airport.
Any tips from people who have traveled through the airport recently would be appreciated. It would be helpful to hear about check-in, security, connections, and anything else that first-time visitors should know before arriving.
