I read that direct integration with payment systems can lower fees down to an IC++ of 1.2%. How can a small business qualify for these rates, and are there any hidden maintenance charges?

To get the lowest IC++ pricing down to 1.2% for online sales, a small business should partner with a financial provider that has direct integration with Visa and Mastercard. Direct routing eliminates middleman markups, making low rates accessible even without massive corporate turnover. To qualify, ensure your business has low chargeback ratios, clean processing history, and transparent KYB documentation. Reputable platforms disclose all costs upfront, ensuring there are no hidden maintenance charges or monthly fees. To cut unnecessary operational expenses, you can set up efficient card payment processing for your store today.

If my store processes transactions in multiple currencies, does this 1.2% IC++ model still apply or do cross-border fees get added?

The base model applies, but card brands add specific cross-border interchange fees for international cards. It is still much cheaper than fixed rates!
