Getting your RMM tools and PSA software up and running is only the first step. To see a return on your investment, you need a solid deployment strategy. If you just "turn it on" for everyone at once, you’ll likely end up overwhelmed.
To make the most of your new tool, keep these four best practices in mind:

1. Roll Out in Waves
It’s tempting to push the management agent to every device on day one, but that’s a recipe for headaches. Instead, start with a pilot group. Choose a small handful of non-essential workstations to test how the agent behaves and ensure it isn't slowing down the network. Once you’ve ironed out the kinks, you can scale up to the rest of the company with confidence.
2. Combat "Alert Fatigue"
One of the biggest traps in IT is over-notification. If your technicians are getting 500 emails a day for minor issues, they’ll eventually start ignoring their inbox—and that’s when a critical server failure gets missed.
• The Fix: Tune your settings so that only high-priority, "eyes-on" issues trigger a human notification. For everything else, like clearing a full temp folder or restarting a basic service, let your auto-remediation scripts handle it in the background.
