Zenegra 100 mg contains sildenafil citrate, the same active ingredient found in Viagra, and is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). However, hypotension (low blood pressure) is an important consideration when using sildenafil-based medications like Zenegra. Why Zenegra 100 mg Should Be Used Cautiously in Hypotension: Sildenafil works by relaxing blood vessels and increasing blood flow to the penis during sexual activity, but this mechanism can also affect blood pressure. Zenegra (sildenafil) is a vasodilator, meaning it can cause a temporary drop in blood pressure. For someone with already low blood pressure, this could result in: Dizziness Fainting Lightheadedness Zenegra 100 Mg risk of heart-related complications When Zenegra 100 mg Should NOT Be Used in Hypotension: Severe Hypotension: Zenegra should not be used if you have a history of severe hypotension, typically defined as a blood pressure reading below 90/60 mmHg. Taking Zenegra with severe hypotension can lead to a dangerous drop in blood pressure, which can be life-threatening. Uncontrolled Hypotension: If your hypotension is not well-controlled or managed with medications, Zenegra should be avoided. Patients with uncontrolled low blood pressure may not tolerate the additional vasodilation caused by sildenafil, increasing the risk of significant adverse effects. If You Are Taking Nitrates: Nitrates (e.g., nitroglycerin) are commonly prescribed for chest pain or heart conditions, and combining these with Zenegra can cause a severe drop in blood pressure.
