Cluely AI is pretty good as a basic interview assistant, but it's got a few issues. There's some noticeable friction in interactions and it's a bit limited in how it can provide AI support during live interviews. For example, when I tried it out, I thought it was all over the place, the answers were too generic and the responses too short. Also, I got spotted in the test meetings when sharing my full screen.
After knowing all the Cluely limitations, I turned to search for better options. I scoured the internet for articles on the best Cluey alternatives. A comparison review of Cluey and other AI interview tools in the same tier was mentioned by one of them, so Parakeet AI review and Interview Coder review were also looked into by me.
Ultimately, I returned to the interview assistant recommended in the original article: Linkjob AI, which is another real-time interview copilot that helped me a lot when taking my coding interviews.
