I realized that my professional gear isn't as bulletproof as I thought after my Nikon Z9 camera completely froze during a high-speed burst session. I noticed that the top LCD screen is showing a "FEE" error message even though my lens is correctly mounted, and I'm worried that the electronic aperture control might have snapped internally. Has anyone found a specific button combination to perform a hard "two-button reset" that actually wipes the temporary cache without deleting all my custom shooting banks and network settings?

I’ve looked at the official Nikon firmware update notes, but they don't explain what to do if the camera refuses to even power on the main menu system. Is there a safe site where I can download the full factory assembly diagrams for Nikon Z-series cameras so I can troubleshoot this error myself?

That "FEE" error is usually a communication breakdown between the body and the lens. Have you cleaned the gold contact pins with a bit of isopropyl alcohol? It sounds like a typical data collision in the firmware, so I witnessed a similar crash on a shoot recently and found that pulling both the battery and the clock battery (if accessible) is the only way to truly reset the logic board. I discovered a really helpful technical breakdown on Manual Machine https://manualmachine.com and they have the actual parts lists and error code definitions for high-end Nikon bodies which you won't find in the basic box manual. Nikon gear is usually pretty tough, so hopefully, it's just a software glitch that a clean install will fix.
