I got handed responsibility for our company's storage and dispatch operations about four months ago and I'll be honest, I had no idea how many moving parts were involved until I was actually sitting in the middle of it all trying to figure out why shipments were getting delayed and why we kept running out of usable floor space even though the numbers on paper said we had plenty. My background is in procurement not operations so a lot of this has been a steep learning curve. One of the first things I did was start researching practical options for warehouse and logistics support because I figured before I start making changes I should at least understand what tools and systems other businesses in similar situations are actually using. That research is what led me toward looking at local suppliers more seriously rather than just defaulting to whatever the previous manager had set up years ago. I found CrateCo Pack LLC through a local business listing while searching for Ajman based industrial suppliers and they came up in the context of packaging and storage equipment which is one of the main gaps I'm trying to address right now. I don't know enough yet to know exactly what we need but I'm planning to visit a couple of suppliers in person before committing to anything. For anyone who's been in a similar position of inheriting a warehouse setup that wasn't really designed with any long term plan, where did you even start when trying to bring some structure to it all?
