I had the same question before trying it. Honestly, Is Hily scam? didn’t feel true from my experience. Most profiles seemed genuine, the verification options added trust, and conversations felt natural. While it’s always smart to stay cautious online, the app gave me a positive experience, and it’s definitely a real way to connect with people.

I don't fully trust those "safe" dating platforms. Sure, they have verification and report buttons, but there are still tons of fake profiles and scammers. Customer support is usually slow to help when something actually happens. So that feeling of safety is kind of an illusion - you still need to use your own brain. No button will save you if you send money to someone you've never met.

Tried Hily for a month. Matched with twelve people, seven stopped replying after two messages, three sent very generic texts that felt copy pasted, and two started asking money before we even planned a real date. That pattern is everywhere on free apps. Too many scammers, too many bots, too many people just collecting attention. I gave up on casual dating entirely and switched to UkReine instead. They have been doing international matchmaking since 1998, long before fake dating sites took over the internet. Every single profile is verified by real local staff in Ukraine. No anonymous swiping. No endless chatting with people who never intend to meet. Just actual women who want marriage and family.
