Tadasoft 40 mg (and other tadalafil?based doses) is considered a PDE5 inhibitor because of how it works at the molecular level to help with erectile function What “PDE5 inhibitor” Means PDE5 stands for phosphodiesterase type?5, an enzyme found largely in the smooth muscle of the penis (corpus cavernosum) and other blood vessels. Its job is to break down a signaling molecule called cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). cGMP is crucial for erection because it causes relaxation of smooth muscle and dilation of blood vessels, allowing blood to flow into penile tissue during sexual arousal How Tadasoft 40 mg (Tadalafil) Works Tadalafil selectively blocks (inhibits) the PDE5 enzyme, which slows the breakdown of cGMP. With PDE5 inhibited, cGMP levels remain higher for longer, promoting sustained smooth muscle relaxation and improved blood flow into the penis. This is why tadalafil only helps when there is sexual stimulation — because nitric oxide (released during arousal) starts the cGMP production that tadalafil then helps preserve Inhibitor” Because inhibiting the PDE5 enzyme is the key pharmacologic action that allows more cGMP to stay active in penile blood vessels, enabling improved blood flow and erection support. Tadalafil is highly selective for PDE5 compared with other similar enzymes, which helps target its effect specifically to the pathways involved in erection.
