Vilitra increases blood flow by affecting a natural chemical signaling pathway in the penis that controls vascular relaxation during sexual arousal. Here’s how it works in simple terms Normal Erection Physiology When a man is sexually stimulated, nerve cells in the penis release nitric oxide (NO). NO then triggers the production of a molecule called cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). cGMP relaxes the smooth muscle cells in the penile blood vessels, causing them to widen (dilate). This dilation allows more blood to flow into the corpus Vilitra — the sponge?like tissue that fills with blood during an erection — enabling the penis to become firm. How Vilitra Enhances Blood Flow Vilitra’s active ingredient, vardenafil, belongs to a class of medications called PDE5 inhibitors. It works by blocking the enzyme phosphodiesterase type?5 (PDE5), which normally breaks down cGMP. By stopping PDE5 from degrading cGMP, Vilitra lets cGMP build up and stay active longer in the penile tissue. The result is prolonged smooth muscle relaxation and increased blood flow into the penis during sexual stimulation, which helps achieve and sustain an erection.
