Stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease involves a severe decline in kidney function, with a glomerular filtration rate ranging from 15 to 29 mL/min. At this stage, the kidneys are no longer able to effectively filter waste and excess fluids, causing symptoms to become more pronounced. Individuals may experience extreme fatigue, swelling in the legs, ankles, or face, nausea, loss of appetite, shortness of breath, and mental fog. High blood pressure, anemia, and bone-related problems are also common. Treatment at this stage focuses on managing symptoms, preventing further progression, and preparing for dialysis or a kidney transplant.
