Chronic kidney disease symptoms often develop gradually and may go unnoticed in the early stages. As kidney function declines, individuals may experience persistent fatigue, weakness, and difficulty concentrating. Fluid retention can lead to swelling in the feet, ankles, legs, hands, or around the eyes. Changes in urination, such as frequent urination at night, reduced output, foamy urine, or blood in the urine, are common signs. Additional symptoms include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, unexplained weight loss, muscle cramps, dry and itchy skin, shortness of breath, sleep disturbances, and ongoing high blood pressure, indicating progressive kidney damage.
