Tadalista contains tadalafil, a PDE5 inhibitor used for erectile dysfunction. One of its known side effects is nasal congestion (stuffy nose). This happens due to its mechanism of action in the body. Here’s the explanation: Why Tadalafil Can Cause Nasal Congestion PDE5 Inhibition and Nitric Oxide Tadalafil inhibits phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5), which increases cyclic GMP levels in smooth muscle cells. This causes relaxation of smooth muscles in blood vessels, allowing more blood flow—essential for erectile function. Effect on Blood Vessels in the Nose PDE5 is also present in the small blood vessels (vascular smooth muscle) of the nasal mucosa. Relaxation of these vessels causes them to dilate, increasing blood flow to the nasal passages. This results in swelling of Tadalista tissues and congestion. Mild Fluid Accumulation The increased blood flow can lead to slight fluid leakage into nasal tissues, contributing to the feeling of a stuffy or runny nose. Other Common Vasodilatory Side Effects Headache, flushing, and dizziness are related to the same blood vessel relaxation effect, just in different parts of the body. Key Points Nasal congestion is usually mild and temporary. It tends to occur shortly after taking the dose and may resolve as the drug wears off. Drinking plenty of water or using a saline nasal spray can sometimes relieve the symptom. Severe or persistent congestion is rare and should be discussed with a doctor.
