If your important certificates—such as degrees, birth certificates, or marriage certificates—are laminated, you may need to gently remove the lamination or apply for a duplicate from the issuing authority. Always check with a professional apostille service before attempting to remove lamination yourself to avoid damage. Submitting non-laminated, original, and unaltered documents ensures faster processing and prevents rejection during state-level authentication or MEA apostille procedures.
