Fildena 120 mg, a medication primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction, is not an open-source drug. Open-source typically refers to software or technology that is made publicly available for free use and modification. In the context of pharmaceuticals, however, the term "open-source" is not commonly used.

FILDENA 120 MG contains Sildenafil Citrate, the same active ingredient found in Viagra, a drug developed by Pfizer. Sildenafil Citrate was patented by Pfizer in 1996, and the patent for Viagra expired in 2020. As a result, generic versions of Sildenafil, including Fildena, became available on the market after the patent expiration. These generic versions are often sold at a lower price but are still considered proprietary products by their manufacturers, not open-source.

While the active ingredient Sildenafil Citrate is available in the public domain for manufacturing by any approved pharmaceutical company, the term "open-source" is not applicable to its formulation. Therefore, Fildena 120 mg, as a generic version of Viagra, did not become "open-source" in the traditional sense. It simply became accessible to other manufacturers following the expiration of the Viagra patent.
