Yes, Malegra, which contains sildenafil citrate, can potentially cause priapism, although this side effect is very rare. Priapism is a prolonged and often painful erection lasting more than four hours, and it can be a medical emergency if left untreated. Malegra works by increasing blood flow to the penis to help achieve and maintain an erection, but in rare cases, this effect may become excessive, leading to prolonged erections.

The risk of priapism is higher in men with certain medical conditions such as sickle cell anemia, leukemia, or multiple myeloma, or in those taking other erectile dysfunction medications or recreational drugs that also affect blood circulation. While most erections caused by Malegra subside naturally after sexual activity, persistent erections should not be ignored.

If an erection lasts longer than four hours after taking Malegra, immediate medical attention is necessary. Untreated priapism can cause permanent tissue damage and lead to long-term erectile dysfunction. Therefore, Malegra should always be used responsibly and under a doctor’s guidance.
