There are several components to securely receive and send the traffic between the devices to be monitored and the remote monitoring service in a unified remote monitoring and management system. These consist of a management console, an RMM agent, and a secure channel for data transmission.
The process starts with the RMM agents that are installed on remote endpoints like laptops, desktops, servers, or Internet of Things devices to establish a remote monitoring and management connection between the server and host devices. These agents keep an eye on the system's endpoints and gather information on performance metrics, security updates, device health, etc. The collected data is then sent to a centrally located, unified RMM server, or management console, via encrypted channels.
A unified RMM tools with PSA software employs firewalls, protocols, and ports to ensure that the data being transmitted is free from vulnerabilities, threats, and flaws. Afterward, the management console promptly aggregates and analyses the transmitted data in real-time to detect irregularities, provide alerts, and provide actionable insights to the IT administrators' dashboards.
