My greatest adventure started at the Cape Air Office in Albany where excellent service and the allure of small-scale flying came together. Located at Albany International Airport, the establishment looked more like a welcoming local travel agency than a busy airline counter. Cape Air made the trip as memorable as the destination, which was Nantucket, which I had always wanted to visit. I was immediately alleviated of my usual pre-flight anxiety by the staff's warm grins and sincere excitement. No huge aircraft could match the stunning aerial vista of New England's undulating landscapes and glistening coasts that was provided by the flight, which was taken in one of their iconic Cessna 402s.
