The organization and service provided by Southwest Airlines DCA Terminal continue to astound me. I got there early and found the check-in procedure to be straightforward, with short queues and kiosks with clear labels. Without being asked, the friendly gate staff gave us flight updates. Confusion that often occurs with open seating was reduced by calling boarding groups in a timely and unambiguous order. Their enforcement of boarding etiquette, which streamlined the procedure, was another thing I valued. Once aboard, the crew was cheerful and productive. The actual boarding area was well-kept, and there were many power outlets. On overhead screens, flight information was displayed along with crisp announcements. At DCA, the Southwest staff made my trip swift, simple, and pleasurable.
