Chat with someone on Facebook by clicking their name on your friend list, then "Chat" or "Message" to start a conversation. You may also access the chat interface through Messenger, which can be accessed through the left menu or the chat button. You may begin a new message by clicking "New message" and typing in the name of the person to send a message.
