Namita Thapar success story from Pune to becoming a prominent leader in India’s pharmaceutical sector is a remarkable tale of vision, resilience, and leadership. Born on March 21, 1977, Namita pursued Chartered Accountancy and later earned an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. Her career began at Guidant Corporation in the U.S., where she gained valuable experience in financial planning.
In 2007, Namita returned to India and joined her family business, Emcure Pharmaceuticals. Starting as CFO, she quickly expanded her role, overseeing mergers and acquisitions, IT, global compliance, HR, and marketing. Under her leadership, Emcure expanded to over 70 countries, achieving sales surpassing $1 billion.
Beyond her corporate achievements, Namita is the founder of Incredible Ventures Ltd, launched in 2017 to nurture entrepreneurial skills among youth. She also actively contributes to initiatives like the Digital Health Task Force and NITI Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurship Platform.
Namita’s prominent role as a judge on "Shark Tank India" further solidified her influence. Her sharp insights have led to successful investments, such as her support for Perfora, which saw a fivefold increase in monthly sales. Recognized with prestigious awards like the World Women Leadership Congress Super Achiever Award and The Economic Times ‘40 under 40,’ Namita Thapar’s success story continues to inspire future entrepreneurs.
