The Triple Marker Test is a prenatal screening test that helps assess the risk of chromosomal abnormalities and neural tube defects in a developing fetus. This blood test measures three key biomarkers—Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG), and Estriol—to evaluate the likelihood of conditions such as Down syndrome (Trisomy 21), Edwards syndrome (Trisomy 18), and spina bifida. It is typically performed between the 15th and 20th weeks of pregnancy.
