Well, the response is no. The Southwest Companion Pass is gained when a member travels a certain number of flights that are qualifying or accumulates a particular amount of points which are called Rapid Rewards in a particular year. Due to Expedia's lack of affiliation with Southwest Airlines' Rapid Rewards program, flights purchased through Expedia typically do not count towards Companion Pass points.
