Extra Super Zhewitra is a combination medication containing vardenafil (the active ingredient in Zhewitra), which is a PDE5 inhibitor, and often dapoxetine, a medication used to treat premature ejaculation. The key interaction of Extra Super Zhewitra with nitric oxide (NO) primarily involves the vardenafil component, as it is directly linked to the mechanism of action of nitric oxide in the body. Nitric oxide (NO) is a molecule that plays a crucial role in the process of achieving an erection. When a man is sexually aroused, NO is released from the nerve endings and endothelial cells (cells lining blood vessels) in the penis. Nitric oxide stimulates the enzyme guanylate cyclase, which leads to increased production of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). The cGMP then causes the smooth muscles in the blood vessels to relax, allowing for increased blood flow to the penis and facilitating an erection. Extra Super Zhewitra works by inhibiting the enzyme phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5). PDE5 normally breaks down cGMP, so by inhibiting this enzyme, vardenafil allows cGMP to accumulate and persist longer. As a result, the action of nitric oxide is enhanced because more cGMP is available to maintain the smooth muscle relaxation and continued blood flow to the penis. This helps improve and sustain an erection.
