Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) is a renewable diesel fuel produced through the hydrotreatment of vegetable oils or animal fats. Unlike traditional biodiesel (FAME), HVO undergoes a hydrogenation process that removes oxygen from the fatty acids, resulting in a high-quality paraffinic fuel that closely mimics the properties of fossil diesel.
