As of 2024, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) guidelines focus on enhancing security while streamlining the passenger experience. Travelers are encouraged to arrive at the airport at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights. Liquid restrictions remain in place: containers must be 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less, placed in a quart-sized, clear, resealable bag. The TSA PreCheck program continues to offer expedited screening, allowing passengers to leave on shoes, belts, and light jackets, and keep laptops and liquids in their bags. Enhanced security screening procedures are in effect for electronic devices larger than a smartphone. All travelers must present valid identification and boarding passes at security checkpoints. For international flights, additional screening may be required based on destination-specific regulations. Travelers are advised to check the latest guidelines and advisories on the TSA website before departure.
