Filagra Oral Jelly is a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It contains sildenafil citrate, which is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. Here's how it works: When a man is sexually stimulated, the body releases nitric oxide in the erectile tissue of the penis. This nitric oxide stimulates an enzyme called guanylate cyclase, which increases levels of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), a chemical that relaxes smooth muscles in the blood vessels of the penis, allowing blood to flow in and produce an erection. However, another enzyme called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) breaks down cGMP, leading to a decrease in blood flow and the loss of an erection. Sildenafil citrate in Filagra Oral Jelly inhibits the action of PDE5, allowing cGMP to accumulate and maintain an erection when sexually aroused. It's essential to note that Filagra Oral Jelly works only when there is sexual stimulation. It doesn't cause an erection on its own and won't increase sexual desire. Additionally, it's essential to follow your healthcare provider's instructions carefully regarding dosage and usage.
