I have been using a paid UK VPN service for Netflix over the past few months. Whenever it rains, which is usually every other day in our county, I turn on my VPN and Netflix. Watch a show that I like with a steaming hot cup of cocoa. It’s been swell! Yesterday, I came across a thread that said using a VPN service to access Netflix is illegal in the UK.
When I conducted a quick Google search, the results contradicted the information in the thread. For anyone curious about the VPN I use, I found one on a page about the best https://fastestvpn.com/server-locations/uk-vpn
And it makes sense because I have never heard of anyone getting in trouble because of Netflix streaming with a VPN. But it planted a seed of doubt in my mind.
I want to know if using a VPN for Netflix really illegal in the UK. Also, if I find out it is and continue using it, what could be the repercussions? What are your moral standpoints on such situations? If I pay for a VPN service and a Netflix service, shouldn’t I be free to choose the content I want to watch? I want your input to put my mind at ease.
