Put the extender between your Wi-Fi router and the spot where the signal is weak. Wait for the light to turn orange after plugging in the extension. Join the Wi-Fi network provided by the extender with your computer or mobile device. Open a web browser and type "192.168.1.1" or "extender.linksys.com" into the address bar. To configure the extender, follow the on-screen instructions, making sure to choose your current Wi-Fi network and input the password. Once everything is set up, the extender will increase Wi-Fi coverage, giving the intended area a better signal.
