The Linksys RE6500 Extender Setup procedures are as follows:
Plug the RE6500 into an electrical outlet close to your Wi-Fi router.
Connect to the extender by going to the Wi-Fi settings on your computer or mobile device and joining the extender's default Wi-Fi network. A default network name along the lines of "Linksys Extender Setup - xxx" should be used.
Open a web browser on your connected device, such as Chrome, Firefox, or Safari.
Enter "extenderlinksyscom" or the standard IP address "192.168.1.1" in the address box of the web browser, and then hit Enter.
The Linksys Extender Setup page must now appear. Choose your desired language when requested, then click "Start Setup".
Accepting the licence part: Click "Next" after reading and agreeing to the End User Licence Agreement by checking the box.
The extender will look for open Wi-Fi networks and scan for them. Hold off until the scan is finished.
Click "Next" after selecting your home network from the list of available networks.
Enter the password for your WiFi network: Click "Next" after entering the password for your current Wi-Fi network.
The network name (SSID) and password for the extended network can be changed, or you can choose to keep them the same. After making a decision, click "Next".
The extended network will be created once the extender has applied the parameters. To use the expanded Wi-Fi coverage, join this new network with your devices.
Complete the configuration by clicking "Next" after you've linked your devices to the expanded network.
