WalletConnect is the better option depends on what you intend to use the wallet for. If you're looking for a crypto wallet and gateway to blockchain apps, is the better option. MetaMask wallet is safe to use to store, transfer bulk payments in Ethereum or ERC 20 tokens since it is a hardware wallet.
