Wooden ladders have the durability that you may be looking for in a ladder. However, they can be relatively heavy and are prone to damage as a result of weather exposure and insect infestation.

Aluminum ladders, on the other hand, are valued because of their portability, strength and resistance to wear and tear. The thing about aluminum ladders is that it can pose a threat to one's safety as it is best extension ladders a good conductor of electricity. Aluminum is a malleable iron hence, it easily bends under pressure. It can become twisted and unstable over time. If you have an indoor or outdoor work, you may use this type of ladder for as long as you stay away from power lines and corrosive salt water.

If you have a lot of money to spend, go for a ladder that is made of fiberglass. It is durable, safe and it is a poor conductor of electricity, just like your wooden ladders. Therefore, you can use it while doing outdoor work and roofing. It is also resistant to damage caused by insects and weather. However, fiberglass is not lightweight unlike aluminum.
