When choosing a suitable tackle bag for sea fishing you need to consider what type of sea fishing you will be doing the most. For example if you are planning on doing a lot of Beach fishing you may need to consider a series of tackle box compartments and a series of pockets to store your bait and accessories. If you are a mobile angler and like hitting the local shore line for Bass you would be looking for a lightweight organised bag for your lures and sea fishing tackle bits. The biggest problem that I see is that angler tends to carry a lot more gear than they actually need. A box loaded to the rim for a day out is not suitable at all. You need to separate your tackle down into sections. All your lures and clips including a few lead weights should be placed in a mobile bag with 3 or more lure boxes for easy access and organisation; this will be well suited for the day out. A good bag for this is the Abu Garcia Game Bag. This bag features compartments front and back and leaves your hands free for fishing on the go!
The rest of your gear such as heavy leads, rig wallets, head torch and all other items should be stored in a separate bag or box for long trips or night sessions. A good all-rounder box for most UK beach fishing is the Beta box by Shakespeare. So when you plan a fishing trip work out exactly what you need and try not to feel the urge to take ten of everything, You don't need it trust me. The lighter your gear is on you back the more enjoyable your trip will be. The most practical bags for sea fishing tend to be a bag that has around 3 pockets and a large internal space for a flask and un hooking tools. The rest of the bag should be made up of individual tackle boxes that you can store all your rig bits, pre made traces and weights. In the long term you will know exactly what tackle bits will need replacing if you are organised. Having your fishing gear just thrown into a bag is not good ideal as gear can go missing or get damaged. If you bag is water proof all the better however it is not a must as most anglers will just wash the bag after a few months.
